Southern Oregon freshman goalkeeper
Jessica Kuehlwein (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City) has been chosen to play for the Portland Rain FC.
The Portland Rain FC is entering their first season in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), which will being play this Summer. The team consists of many current and former women's collegiate soccer players.
Kuehlwein is one of two keepers on the roster for the Rain, along with Concordia's Georgie Christensen.
“This is an amazing honor for Jess,” SOU head coach Jon Clement said. “Playing this summer at this high level will do a lot in her development as a soccer player. She's going to playing against and along side some of the best soccer players in the country. Jess has always played at a very high level and she is completely prepared and should be very successful.”
The Rain will open up the 2009 season May 3 when they host the Seattle Synergy in Hillsboro.
