Southern Oregon men's basketball coach
Brian McDermott announced today the signing of Marshfield High standout Kyle Tedder to a letter of intent to play basketball for the Raiders next year.
Tedder, a 6-2 guard, just wrapped up an impressive career for the Pirates.
“We think he's one of the best basketball players in the state,” McDermott said. “And he's also one of the top athletes, based on his football career and being looked at by some big-time schools to play football.”
Tedder is coming off a senior season in which he averaged 22 points, five assists and four rebounds. Tedder was named All-State and Midwestern League Player of the Year as a senior and earned All-League honors as a junior.
Tedder was also highly recruited as a football player, earning League Player of the Year honors, as a well as All-League honors on offense, defense and special teams and All-State honors as a defensive back.
Tedder was also an honor roll student at Marshfield, wrapping up his high school career with a 3.48 GPA.
“He's a true combo guard,” McDermott said. “He's very good offensively and can find a lot of ways to score. There's not much he can't do with the ball.”
