Tara Elder (1989-92) stands in the front of a long line of line of superstar setters for the Raider volleyball team. She completed her career as SOU's all-time leader in assists (3,762) and as of induction ranks third on the list. The four-time conference all-star and three-time all-district selection was the floor leader for two conference title teams, in 1990 and '91, and received All-America honorable mention as a member of the latter squad. She helped conduct the offense on the basketball court, too, with a team-best clip of 2.8 assists per game during the 1990-91 campaign, and lettered one year in track and field as a javelin thrower.
