Owls Send Raiders On The Road

With a home playoff match at stake for both teams, the Oregon Tech women's soccer team scored a 2-0 victory over Southern Oregon tonight at Klamath Falls.

Oregon Tech improved to 8-8-2 overall and 7-2-1 in Cascade Conference play. Southern Oregon dropped its second straight and fell to 8-10 overall and 6-4 in conference action.

The Raiders will have to settle for the No. 5 seed in the conference playoffs and travels to Northwest Saturday night. Oregon Tech gets the No. 3 seed and will host Corban on Saturday.

The Owls got on the board in the first half on a penalty kick by Janelle Stoner at the 31 minute mark.

The lead stayed at 1-0 until the final seconds of the match when Katie O'Brien followed up a shot and nailed the putback for a 2-0 OIT victory.

Chenin Young (Upland, Calif./Upland) and Kelly Clark (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Alio Viejio) both had two shots on goal for the Raiders. Freshman keeper Jessica Kuehlwien finished with seven saves.
