SOU-Eastern Oregon Boxscore

The Southern Oregon women's soccer team overcame a 1-0 deficit to score a 2-1 victory over Eastern Oregon today in La Grande.

The Raiders improved to 4-7 overall and 2-1 in Cascade Conference play. Eastern Oregon fell 3-8 overall and 1-3 in conference action.

Eastern's Hailey Bohnet put the Mountaineers ahead 1-0 with a goal at 36:24. The Raiders bounced right back and tied the score at 1-1 on a goal by Denise Powell (Grants Pass, Ore./Hidden Valley) at 37:46. The score stayed 1-1 until Chelsie O'Neill put the Raiders up for good at the 56:19 mark.

"Given we were pretty depleted due to injuries we fought hard and won the little battles," SOU Head Coach Jon Clement said. "It was a step in the right direction. Our best soccer is still ahead of us."

The Raiders finished with seven shots and four shots on goal. Freshman goal keeper Jessica Kuehlwien led SOU with nine saves.

SOU returns home next week to face Evergreen State (Friday) and Northwest (Saturday).
