The College of Idaho scored 31 seconds into today's Cascade Conference women's soccer semifinal match and then held on to come away with a 1-0 victory over Southern Oregon today at Vallivue High School in Caldwell, Idaho.

The College of Idaho (12-5-2) will now face the winner of the Corban-Concordia semifinal for the Cascade Conference championship next Wednesday.

The Yotes, like the Raiders and playing in their first-ever semifinal match, got on the board early with a goal by Mandy Greif with just 31 seconds off the game clock.

After that the two teams settled into a defensive battle that didn't feature many shots on either side.

"It was a great game," SOU Head Coach Jon Clement said. "Give them credit, they came out and scored early and it was enough. It was a battle between two good, young and developing teams."

Southern Oregon finishes the season with a 9-11 record and a roster made up of mostly freshmen and sophomores.

"This season says a lot about the future and potential of this team," Clement said. "I'm excited about next year. We've got a special group of players."
