Four players scored in double-digits as the 20th-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team scored an 84-63 victory over Hope International today at the Cougar Classic in Azusa, Calif.
The Raiders are now 10-2 overall. Hope International fell to 0-8 on the season.
SOU returns to Cascade Conference play this weekend when they host Concordia on Friday and Corban on Saturday. Both games start at 5:30 p.m. at McNeal Pavilion.
Whitney Scott (Tumwater, Wash./Black Hills) led the Raiders with 22 points and six assists.
Jacki Speer (Centralia, Wash./Centralia) turned in her fourth straight double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Rhiannon Dickison (Redding, Calif./Anderson) added 16 points and seven rebounds and
Kellyn Cooper (Corvallis, Ore./Corvallis) finished with 10 points.
Scott (five 3-pointers) and Dickison (four 3-pointers) combined to go 9-for-14 from the 3-point line.
The Raiders withstood an early challenge from Hope early on and led 42-30 at halftime.
The second half though was all SOU.
The final 20 minutes was highlighted by a 26-11 SOU run that featured 3-pointers by
Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista), Scott and Dickison to give the Raiders a 76-52 lead with 7:02 to play.
