Stacy Hamer (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) scored the lone goal as the Southern Oregon women's soccer team scored a 1-0 victory Northwest Christian in the Raiders' Cascade Conference opener in Eugene tonight.

The Raiders are now 2-5 overall and 1-0 in conference play and have won back-to-back matches. Northwest Christian fell to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in league action.

"It was great to come out and put another win together," SOU Head Coach Jon Clement said. "The team showed great resolve and battled through playing on the road, the rain and playing at night."

Hamer's goal came at the 64:26 mark off a throw-in and an assist from Kelly Clark (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Alio Viejio).

The goal highlighted what turned out to be an impressive defensive effort by the Raiders.

SOU held Northwest Christian to just one shot in the 90 minute match.

The Raiders meanwhile, had nine shots and three shots on goal.

Clement praised the play of Hamer, Auika Muragin (Koloa, Hawaii/Kauai) and Dianne Uehara (Kailua, Hawaii/Kalaheo).

SOU returns home for two final non-conference matches this weekend. The Raiders host Westminster (Utah) at 1 p.m. and
