The 25th-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team received huge games from Rhiannon Dickison (Redding, Calif./Anderson), Whitney Scott (Tumwater, Wash./Black Hills) and Jacki Speer (Centralia, Wash./Centralia) as they knocked off 8th-ranked College of Idaho 75-69 tonight in Caldwell, Idaho.

The Raiders have now won seven straight games and improved to 18-4 overall and 10-3 in Cascade Conference play. College of Idaho had a 21-game win streak snapped and fell to 21-2 overall and 12-1 in conference action.

Dickison finished with a team-high 25 points to lead the Raiders, including a 12-for-14 effort from the free throw line. Scott finished with 20 points and four 3-pointers. Speer scored 12 points and came away with 20 rebounds to finish with her 14th double-double on the season and her fifth straight.

Nicole Gall had a game-high 27 points and seven 3-pointers to lead the Coyotes.

SOU's victory can be attributed an impressive first half performance, which included 11 3-pointers.

After falling behind 8-0 three minutes into the game, the Raiders caught fire.

A free throw by Dickison tied the game at 10-10 at the 15:10 mark and five minutes later the Raiders had a 26-14 lead after a 3-pointer by Scott.

The lead got up to 20 at 34-14 on a Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista) jumper and in all a 34-6 first half run helped SOU lead 52-34 at the half.

In the second half, the Raiders suddenly went cold.

SOU finished the second half hitting on just 4 of 30 shots (13 percent).

The Coyotes cut the SOU lead to two on back-to-back possessions with under 3:00 to play, but free throws held off the Coyotes and a layup by Emily Brookins (Central Point, Ore./Crater) pushed the SOU lead to 71-66 with 1:23 to play.

Scott hit a pair of free throws late to ice the game.

During the Coyotes second half run, the hosts scored 17 points off SOU turnovers.

SOU travels to Eastern Oregon Saturday night.
