Southern Oregon sophomore running back
Brandon Baldwin (Palo Cedro, Calif./Foothill) went over 1,000 yards for the year, but that was the only offensive highlight as Mary Hardin-Baylor scored a 21-0 victory over the Raiders today in Belton, Texas.
Mary Hardin-Baylor, ranked eighth in the NCAA Division III poll, improved to 6-1 overall. Southern Oregon fell to 2-6 overall and travels to NCAA Division I North Dakota on Nov. 7.
Baldwin rushed for 118 yards on 36 carries for the Raiders and now has 1,049 yards on the season.
The MHB defense held the Raiders 196 yards of offense and forced five turnovers (three fumbles and two interceptions).
The Crusaders showed their impressive running game, by finishing with 332 yards of offense and all put 13 of those coming on the ground.
Mary Hardin-Baylor jumped on the board in the first quarter, converting the second-straight SOU fumble into four-yard touchdown run by Bryson Tucker. Tucker added another score just before half on a 90-yard touchdown run for a 14-0 halftime lead.
In the fourth quarter, the Crusaders put the game away with a six-yard touchdown run by LiDarral Bailey.
Gary Boubon (Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde) led the SOU defense with nine tackles and
Justin Akau (Makawao, Hawaii/King Kekualike) had eight stops.
Sunni Ali (Elk Grove, Calif./Laguna Creek) finished with seven tackles and a tackle-for-loss.
Vance Beach (Mesa, Ariz./Dobson) finished with 31 receiving yards on four catches.
Tucker finished with 218 yards rushing for the Crusaders.
