The 18th-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team came back from 20 down to score a 76-72 victory over Montana State-Northern tonight at Great Falls, Mont.
The Raiders improved to 6-0 with the victory and host Simpson Tuesday night at 5:30 as part of a SOU women's and men's doubleheader.
Southern Oregon struggled through the first half, shooting just 8-for-29 from the field and trailing 42-23 at the half.
The Raiders were down 49-29 with 16 minutes remaining in the game when the Raiders performed one of the greatest come backs in program history.
SOU responded with a 20-0 run to tie the game at 49-49 and then outscored MSU-Northern the rest of the way.
Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista) and
Molly Doran (Corvallis, OR/Crescent Valley) both hit key 3-pointers during the run and both finished with three 3-pointers for the game.
Wood finished with a team-high 15 points.
Krystal Smith (Olympia, Wash./River Ridge) finished with 12 points, while Doran and
Lindsey Scheffler (Castle Rock, Wash./Toutle Lake) both had 11 points.
Jacki Speer (Centralia, Wash./Centralia) finished with six points and 10 rebounds and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
