The 21st-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team won their 12th consecutive game tonight defeating Northwest Christian 75-66 at McNeal Pavilion.

The Raiders improved to 23-4 overall and 15-3 in the Cascade Conference, while the Beacons dropped to 8-18 overall and 3-14 in conference action.

With the win, the Raiders tied the school record for most consecutive wins with 12. The 1997-98 women's basketball team was the other to win 12 consecutive games.

SOU was led by Ashley Baker (Grand Junction, Colo./Fruita)'s 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Jacki Speer (Centralia, Wash./Centralia) added 12 points and 14 rebounds for her eighteenth double-double of the season.

Ashley Baker (Grand Junction, Colo./Fruita) was unbelievable tonight,” SOU head coach Lynn Kennedy said, “She was very determined and Whitney's (Scott) first half really opened up Ashley's post game.”

The Beacon's Elise Gray put up a team high 21 points and six rebounds.

The Raiders jumped out to a 36-29 lead at halftime thanks to Speer's 10 points and eight rebounds with Scott adding 10 points with two 3-pointers.

The second half provided a lot of the same for the Raiders as they jumped out to a double digit lead early on and wouldn't look back the rest of the game.

This marked the final home game of the Raiders during the regular season though the Raiders have already clinched a first round home game in the upcoming playoffs on Feb. 24.

Next week the Raiders go back on the road to finish off the regular season with matchups against Corban on Feb. 20 and 9th-ranked Concordia in the season finale Feb. 21.

Rhiannon Dickison (Redding, Calif./Anderson) and Kellyn Cooper (Corvallis, Ore./Corvallis) said goodbye to the McNeal Pavilion crowd tonight during the Senior Night pregame festivities.
