Hayley Partridge's goal late in the second half was enough as Concordia (Calif.) scored a 1-0 victory over Southern Oregon today at University Field in the season opener for both teams.

Both teams will play again in Ashland on Sunday. Concordia (Calif.) will play second-ranked Concordia (Ore.) at 11 a.m. and SOU and Oregon Tech will play at 1:30 p.m.

Partridge worked her way up the left side and fired from 12 yards up and had the ball just go under SOU goalie Jessica Kuehlwein (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City)'s hands to score the only goal of the game.

Concordia's Bekah Garvin helped protect the lead by turning away SOU on a corner kick at the 84 minute mark.

Concordia came away with 22 shots during the match and SOU finished with eight.

Tori Chambliss (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Oak Ridge), Sara Switzer (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union), Lindsey Thomas (Medford, Ore./South Medford), Stephanie Carr (Upland, Calif./Upland) and Chennin Young all had shots on goal for the Raiders.
