The Southern Oregon and Northwest Nazarene women's soccer teams scored four goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation and finished in a 2-2 tie today in a non-conference match in Nampa, Idaho.

Southern Oregon is now 0-2-1 on the season and Northwest Nazarene is now 1-0-2. Southern Oregon continues its road trip Friday when they face Rocky Mountain in Helena, Mont.

"Our soccer IQ was down today," SOU head coach Jon Clement said. "But we showed signs of getting better. I'm pretty sure this is one that we would win two weeks from now."

After 80 minutes of scoreless soccer, Southern Oregon jumped on the board first with a Stephanie Carr (Upland, Calif./Upland) goal to take a 1-0 lead at the 81st minute. NNU answered immediately to tie the match at 1-1.

Denise Powell (Grants Pass, Ore./Hidden Valley) found the net for the second time this year to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead at the 87th minutes mark and it looked like the lead would stand. But the Crusaders found the net with five seconds remaining to tie the match and send it to overtime.

Neither team could score in the overtime, but Chenin Young (Upland, Calif./Upland) gave the Raiders a chance when she bounced one off the post in the second overtime.

SOU outshot the hosts 12-10 in the match.

Clement was quick to praise the play of Tori Chambliss (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Oak Ridge), Casey Lutgens (Vancouver, Wash./Central Catholic) and Sophie Reeve (Portland, Ore./Jesuit).

"Tori was very physical and a great competitor," Clement said. "She had no errors and was a great competitor. Casey was a huge spark and Sophie played great individual defense."
