The second-ranked Southern Oregon men's cross country took the team title and the women finished fourth at today's Charles Bowles Invitational at Willamette.
The SOU men defeated Victoria 48-105 and was the top Cascade Conference finisher. The 12th-ranked SOU women also finished as the top Cascade Conference team with a fourth place finish.
David Laney (Portland, Ore./Central Catholic) was the top finisher for the Raiders with a second place finish in a time of 24:13.10.
Zach Elliott (Central Point, Ore./Crater) finished 13th in 24:38.87, while Ryan Gelfi finished 19th (24:50.11),
Ryan Sorenson (Sheridan, Wyo. /Sheridan) finished 25th (25:01.45) and Josh Seitz finished 29th in 25:05.13.
For the SOU women,
Laurie Stoutenburgh (Central Point, Ore./Crater) finished 35th in 18:40.16, while
Seena Frantz (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) finished 41st (18:47.22),
Anya Martinez (Central Point, Ore./Crater) finished 43rd (18:47.68),
Alexandra Rudd (North Bend, Wash./Mount Si) finished 52nd (19:03.65) and
Tara Krempley (Sherwood, Ore./Sherwood) finished 56th (19:07.27).
"The men really ran hard and dominated today," SOU head coach Brent Ericksen said. "The women continue to improve and showed today they can run with anyone in our conference."
