Playoff Positioning On The Line For Raiders

10/27/2010 4:41:52 PM

The Southern Oregon women's soccer team will be playing for a Cascade Conference postseason berth and postseason positioning with a pair of regular season ending matches this weekend.

The Raiders (11-3-2, 5-1-1) hit the road for road matches at NAIA top-ranked Concordia (14-0-2, 6-0-1) Friday afternoon and Warner Pacific (2-10-2, 1-6) Saturday.

Southern Oregon currently sits in second place in the conference standings with 16 points. Concordia is first with 19 points, while Corban and College of Idaho are tied for third and fourth with 15 points. Oregon Tech and Eastern Oregon are on the outside looking in for the four-team postseason tournament with 12 points a piece.

Finishing in either first or second would give the Raiders a home semi-final match on Nov. 6.

The Raiders, who for the second straight week received votes in this week's NAIA Top 25 poll, have won or tied the last five matches and eight of the last nine. The Raiders need just one victory to set a program record for most wins in a season.
