Southern Oregon's
Stephanie Carr (Upland, Calif./Upland) scored in the opening moments and the Raiders then had to rally for a 4-3 overtime victory over Oregon Tech today in Klamath Falls.
Southern Oregon improved to 8-3-1 overall and 2-1 in Cascade Conference play. Oregon Tech dropped to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in league.
Carr wasted little time getting the Raiders on the board, taking the ball up the left sideline beating her defender and netting a shot from 20 yards out for a 1-0 SOU lead just a minute into the match.
In the 39th minute,
Sydney Paulsen (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley) tapped in a loose ball for a 2-0 SOU advantage.
While it looked like SOU would roll, Oregon Tech rallied in the second half, scoring three goals in five minutes to take a 3-2 advantage.
Southern Oregon came back and tied the match at the 67 minute mark with an unassisted goal by
Alyssa Bricker (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley) from 30 yards out.
Then in overtime,
Kennedy Roteman (Yorba Linda, Calif./Esperanza) scored off a beautiful crossing pass from
Danielle Stave (Petaluma, Calif./St Vincent de Paul) for the game-winner for the Raiders.
