The Menlo women out-rebounded Southern Oregon 53-41 and came away with an 84-74 victory tonight in Atherton, Calif.
The Raiders dropped to 3-1 on the season and travel to Simpson Tuesday night.
Senior
Whitney Scott (Tumwater, Wash./Black Hills) led SOU with 15 points, while
Josi McDermott (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) finished with 13 points and
Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista) added 11 points. Senior guard
Jamie Roupp (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) had 10 rebounds and six assists for the Raiders.
Menlo had a pair of players turn in double-doubles. Monique Ayers-Calvello had a game-high 30 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Kelsey Grozier had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Menlo jumped out to a 41-36 halftime lead after SOU shot just 31 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes. Menlo shot 56 percent from the field in the second half.
