Sophomore Alexi Smith (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale)'s career night was not enough as the Southern Oregon women fell to Simpson 87-76 tonight in Redding, Calif.

The Raiders fell to 3-2 overall with the setback.

Smith, making her first start for the Raiders, made 7 of 12 field goals en route to 22 points and finished with nine rebounds. Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista) made a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 13 points and Nicole Mowbray (Oak Harbor, Wash./Oak Harbor) had 10 points.

Bekah Wofford come off the bench for a game-high 25 points for Simpson.

Simpson jumped out to a 14-point lead in the first half before SOU stormed back and took a 42-40 halftime lead. In the second half Simpson regained the lead at 44-43 and never gave it back to the Raiders.
