Southern Oregon's
Whitney Scott (Tumwater, Wash./Black Hills) had a season-high 21 points, but it wasn't enough as William Jessup scored a 67-57 victory during the second day of the Yellow Cab Classic in Klamath Falls.
William Jessup improved to 1-11 on the season. Southern Oregon dropped to 7-6 overall and returns to Cascade Conference play Friday night when they host Eastern Oregon.
Scott finished with 21 points, including five 3-pointers.
Nicole Mowbray (Oak Harbor, Wash./Oak Harbor) had six points for the Raiders.
Ashley Rose had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors.
Southern Oregon trailed early before a pair of free throws by
Kiara Moore (Phoenix, Ariz./Tolleson Union) gave SOU a 15-14 lead but a difficulty shooting the ball hurt the Raiders in the first half. SOU made only eight of 29 shots (27 percent) and trailed 36-31 to the Warriors.
The second half, a 3-pointer by
Whitney Scott (Tumwater, Wash./Black Hills) and a jumper by
Nicole Mowbray (Oak Harbor, Wash./Oak Harbor) gave SOU a 38-37 lead with just over 16 minutes to play.
Another Scott 3-pointer put the Raiders up 41-37. After that, it was a back-and-forth battle before Maria Viola jumper gave William Jessup 55-54 lead.
The Warriors then closed out the game on a 12-3 run.
