RESULTS
Southern Oregon's
Seena Frantz (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) and
Levi Roudebush (Grants Pass, Ore./North Valley) both secured NAIA Automatic Qualifying marks at today's San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
Frantz, an All-American on SOU's women's cross country team, finished 14th in her section of the 5,000 with a school-record time of 17:46.54 to easily best the Automatic standard. Roudebush finished third in the 1,500 with a time of 3:51.55 to stamp his ticket to the National Championships.
Also for the Raiders, Laurie Stoutenburgh (38:59.93) and
Kristen Juveland (Central Point, Ore./Crater) (39:22.25) both earned NAIA Provisional Qualifying marks in the 10,000.
Other results for the SOU women included
Tara Krempley (Sherwood, Ore./Sherwood) (18:29.94) finished eighth and
Anya Martinez (Central Point, Ore./Crater) (18:35.27) finished 10th in their section of the 5,000 and
Kelly Clark (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Aliso Niguel) finished 13th in 12:08.56 in the 3,000 steeplechase.
The Raiders had nine runners compete in the men's 5,000.
Zach Elliott (Central Point, Ore./Crater) finished fourth in his section of the 5,000 with a time of 15:16.82 and was followed by
Hector Aleman (Seaside, Calif./Seaside) (sixth, 15:19.91),
Andrew Milne (Redding, Calif./Redding Adventist Academy) (12th, 15:25.85),
Josh Seitz (Forest Grove, Ore./Forest Grove) (16th, 15:31.96) and Ruben Martinez (20th, 15:39.72). In the other section of the 5,000,
Brett Hornig (Pleasanton, Calif./Amador Valley) finished fifth in 15:47.02,
Jerrod Puckett (Central Point, Ore./Crater) finished seventh in 15:53.51 and
Nik Walker (Central Point, Ore./Crater) finished 18th in 16:05.33.
Also for the SOU men,
Wendell Sells (Salinas, Calif./North Salinas) finished third in the 100 (11.23) and fifth in the 200 (23.26),
Peter Stice (Umatilla, Ore./Umatilla) (2:00.88) finished seventh in his section of the 800 and
Kurtis Semph (Beaverton, Ore./Southridge) (2:04.51) finished sixth in his section of the 800 and
Colin McRoberts (Lake Forest, Ore./El Toro) finished sixth in the 3,000 steeplechase in 9:54.56.
