Each member of the Southern Oregon women's team scored and seven players had at least eight points as the Raiders cruised to a 79-57 victory over Evergreen State tonight at McNeal Pavilion.
Southern Oregon improved to 11-8 overall and 4-3 in Cascade Conference play and hosts Northwest Saturday night at 7:30. Evergreen dropped to 3-10 overall and 1-5 in conference.
Jamie Roupp (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) led SOU with 12 points, while
Alexi Smith (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Shekia Hill and LaTrina Woods both had 14 points for Evergreen.
SOU blew open a close game early with back-to-back 3-pointers by
Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista) and
Whitney Scott (Tumwater, Wash./Black Hills) for a 14-4 lead.
Josi McDermott (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) added a 3-pointer for a 20-8 SOU lead and the Raiders never looked back.
SOU held Evergreen to 36 percent shooting for the game.
Scott finished with nine points, while McDermott, Wood, Nalani Barnes and
Krystal Smith (Olympia, Wash./River Ridge) all had eight points.
