BOISE, Idaho – NCAA Div. I Boise State took a double-digit halftime lead and pulled away to a 93-55 victory over Southern Oregon in a women's basketball exhibition contest Friday night at Taco Bell Arena.
Boise State limited SOU to 24.0 percent (6-of-25) shooting in the first half and 29.3 percent (17-of-58) overall to earn the exhibition victory. The Raider defense limited the Broncos to 28.3 percent (13-of-46) shooting in the first half.
Chiquita Thomas led SOU with 12 points in 15 minutes off the bench, while
Krysten Copeland (Rohnert Park, Calif./Santa Rosa High School) scored 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Five Boise State players reached double-figures in the scoring column, led by Diana Lee's 16 points.
The Broncos out-rebounded SOU 56-38 in the contest, with Kinzi Poteet leading the way with 16 rebounds.
Southern Oregon returns to action Sunday evening, when the Raiders will play another exhibition contest against a NCAA Div. I opponent, facing CSU-Bakersfield at 7 p.m.
