Five Southern Oregon players had at least six points as the Southern Oregon women cruised to a 73-57 victory over arch-rival Oregon Tech tonight at Riehm Arena.

Southern Oregon improved to 15-13 overall and 8-8 in Cascade Conference play. The Raiders host Warner Pacific next Friday. Oregon Tech dropped its eighth-straight game and fell to 10-18 overall and 2-14 in conference action.

Alexi Smith (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) led all scorers with 18 points and added 13 rebounds. Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista) added 13 points and Whitney Scott (Tumwater, Wash./Black Hills) had 10 points.

Aundrea Albright led OIT with 12 points.

The Raiders used a late first half run to take a 36-27 halftime lead. Oregon Tech had cut the SOU lead to 23-20 before the Raiders took off. A 3-pointer by Scott and then a 3-pointer by Josi McDermott (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) as the first half clock expired had the Raiders rolling.

Krystal Smith (Olympia, Wash./River Ridge) pushed the lead to 42-29 on back-to-back layups following Oregon Tech's 15th and 16th turnovers of the game.

A deep 3-pointer by Wood put the Raiders up 49-35 with just over 14 minutes to play.

Another McDermott 3-pointer in transition got the Raider advantage up to 53-35 and Oregon Tech would never threaten again.
