Jamie Roupp (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) turned in a triple-double as the Southern Oregon women score a 86-69 victory over 21st-ranked Concordia tonight at Riehm Arena.
Southern Oregon finished the regular season 16-14 and 9-9 in Cascade Conference play. The Raiders are the seventh seed in next week's Cascade Conference Postseason Tournament. SOU will travel to second-seeded Corban Tuesday evening for the first round. Concordia finishes the season 21-9 overall and 13-5 in conference.
In one of the best offensive performances of the season, the Raiders had four players in double-digits.
Roupp finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
Whitney Scott (Tumwater, Wash./Black Hills) had a game-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers.
Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista) had 16 points and
Lindsey Scheffler (Castle Rock, Wash./Toutle Lake) finished with 13 points.
Danielle Clauson led Concordia with 16 points and Gabi Beyer had 13 points.
Scheffler helped get the Raiders off to a fast start with a 3-pointer for a 13-4 lead with 16:12 to play.
The Cavaliers battled back and closed it to 17-16, but freshman
RaTanya Newsome (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson)'s basket and free throw got the Raiders running again. Scheffler added another 3-pointer to push it to 23-16 and the Raiders quickly had the lead up to 10 at 32-22.
The second half was all SOU.
Scheffler hit another 3-pointer to push the lead up to 20 at 57-37. A jumper by
Carly Wood (Sacramento, Calif./Bella Vista) gave the Raiders a 59-37 lead and a 3-pointer by Scott had the SOU fans going crazy at 64-39 and that was more then enough for the Raiders.
