Box Score ASHLAND – Southern Oregon scored the first 13 points and never looked back as the Raiders defeated Pacific Union 97-25 in a nonconference women's basketball game Monday evening at Bob Riehm Arena.
Southern Oregon improves to 3-0 with the win, while Pacific Union drops its first game of the 2012-13 season. The Raiders head to Klamath Falls this weekend for a pair of games at the Oregon Tech Tournament before returning home Sunday to host Hope International at 4 p.m.
The Raiders shot 55.2 percent (33-of-67) in the contest while limiting Pacific Union to 17 percent shooting (9-of-53), and SOU out-rebounded the visitors 61-to-23.
Freshman
Carly Meister (Elma, Wash./Elma) stepped up to lead the Raiders, scoring 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting and grabbing 12 rebounds in only 24 minutes of court time.
Angelica Cahee (Oroville, Calif./) added 12 points and nine rebounds, while
Melissa Sweat (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) finished with 11 points and
Allison Gida (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) tallied 10. Alejandra Gallardo led Pacific Union with 14 points, playing all 40 minutes for the Pioneers.
