Lewis-Clark State tops SOU, 82-76

Box Score LEWISTON, IdahoKristen Schoenherr (Rainier, Wash./Rainier) scored a career-high 21 points, but the Southern Oregon University women's basketball team couldn't break through Friday in an 82-76 loss at Lewis-Clark State.

Ashley Claussen (Scotts Valley, Calif./Santa Cruz) gave SOU (4-1 overall) its last lead, 42-41, when she hit a 3-pointer with 17 minutes left. The Raiders never trailed by more than nine, and Autumn Durand (Onalaska, Wash./Onalaska)'s 3-pointer made it 78-74 with 20 seconds remaining, but the Warriors made six of seven free throws to seal it.

Tannis Fuller had 17 points and six rebounds for the Warriors (6-0), who also put three others in double figures: Brittaney Niebergall (15), Caelyn Orlandi (10) and Brooke Litalien (10).

Schoenherr, who went 6-for-12 from the field, added six rebounds and four assists. Carly Meister (Elma, Wash./Elma) had 16 points, Allison Gida (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) had 14 and Durand finished with 11 points and five rebounds.

Durand's 3 put the Raiders in front on the first possession of the second half after they had trailed but as many as 10 in the first.

The Raiders play again Saturday against Cal State San Marcos at the Lewis-Clark State Tournament at 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
