Raider women drop Cal Maritime again, 84-68, for 8th straight win

Box Score VALLEJO, Calif. – The third meeting between the 17th-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team and Cal Maritime wasn't much different than the first two as the Raiders completed a season sweep with an 84-68 nonleague win Saturday.

Carly Meister (Elma, Wash./Elma) returned to her double-double form with 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead four players in double figures as SOU (12-1 overall) ran its win streak to eight games.

Kristen Schoenherr (Rainier, Wash./Rainier) tallied 16 points and seven rebounds, Autumn Durand (Onalaska, Wash./Onalaska) had 15 and six, and Allison Gida (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) added 11 and eight as the Raiders built a 38-26 halftime lead and never let go. SOU had a 46-27 rebounding advantage, collecting 15 on the offensive end.

Shante Sands had 17 points and six boards to lead Cal Maritime, which dipped to 6-6 on the season. The Keelhaulers lost their three games against the Raiders by an average of 19 points.

SOU's Ashley Claussen (Scotts Valley, Calif./Santa Cruz) recorded a game-high five assists. Gida had three steals, and Schoenherr, who has been in double figures in all but one game, made both of her 3-point attempts.

Meister's double-double was her fifth of the season and first since she hit up Maritime for one on Nov. 23.

The Raiders will now hit the road looking to build on a 2-0 Cascade Conference record with games at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho next Friday and Saturday.
