SALEM – The Southern Oregon University women's soccer team outshot Corban on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors just happened to shoot the one that mattered.
Olivia Erskine found Randi Donahue in the 71st minute for the lone goal, which was also the first for Corban (6-5-2, 1-2-1) in four Cascade Conference contests. Erskine's through-ball gave Donahue a clear 10-yard look, one of four the Warriors had on goal.
SOU slipped to 3-8 overall and 2-2 in the CCC with home matches coming up next Thursday and Saturday against Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho.
The Raiders had 14 shots and directed eight on goal, including all four off the feet of Megan McArthur (San Jose, Calif./Presentation).
They haven't let a conference opponent score more than one goal, but have now been shut out in four of their losses this season.
Corban keeper Kaitlyn Mendenhall totaled eight saves to preserve the shutout. Two days earlier, she helped the Warriors salvage a scoreless draw despite being outshot 42-8 by Oregon Tech.
SOU's Devon Walker (Yelm, Wash./Yelm ) made three saves.
