DENVER Carly Meister (Elma, Wash./Elma) won't get to keep the points, but she can bank the confidence built by her 33-point, 10-rebound performance in the Southern Oregon's women's basketball team's 92-72 exhibition win over Regis University (Colo.) on Friday.

Playing at the Metro State Tipoff Classic, Meister went off with a 16-for-20 display from the field against the NCAA Division II opponent. SOU point guard Ashley Claussen (Scotts Valley, Calif./Santa Cruz) went 4-for-7 from 3-point range on her way to 20 points and seven assists.

The Raiders, who remain 3-0 overall, shot a staggering 61 percent (40-for-66) as a team. They led by 11 at halftime and outscored Regis 54-45 in the second half.

The game was the first of the season for the Rangers, who were led by Karlyn Johnson's 14 points and six rebounds.

SOU plays another exhibition at 6 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday against Metro State.
