Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LA GRANDE – The Southern Oregon University softball team will return from its longest Cascade Conference road trip with a couple of wins in tow after throwing a wrench in Eastern Oregon's senior day celebration.

The Raiders pounced on the Mountaineers to the tune of 6-2 and 11-4 wins Saturday at Anderson Field, getting right back on track a day removed from two duds at College of Idaho. As a result, the Raiders (12-12 overall, 11-5 CCC) moved back ahead of C of I into third place and are just 1 ½ games behind second-place Concordia with the Cavaliers coming to town next week.

Julia Willison (Reno, Nevada/McQueen) led SOU's big day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI and three runs scored. She opened Game 2 with an RBI single, hit a two-run double that made it 6-0 in the second and added a solo home run, her third of the week, in the sixth.

Sierra Anderson (Portland, Ore./Sunset) also went deep, ripping a three-run shot to complement Willison's double as the Raiders scored seven runs and went up 10-0 in the second inning of Game 2. She gave SOU a lead in the first inning of Game 1 with a two-run single.

By the time Ashley Lowe (Sacramento, Calif./Ck. McClatchy) lined a two-run single to right field in the third inning of the opener, SOU was up 6-0 on the Mountaineers (14-17, 7-15). Lowe produced four hits and scored twice while sliding into the leadoff spot for the first time this season.

Karlie Stephens (Eagle Point, Ore./Eagle Point) benefitted from a lineup shuffle, too. Making her second and third starts at designated hitter, she sent the first home run of her career sailing over the fence in left center as part of the second inning in Game 2. She went 3-for-7 with three runs scored and closed out the afternoon with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief to secure Sydney White (Clovis, Calif./Clovis West)'s win.

Brianne Craig (Rialto, Calif./Etiwanda H.S.) won the opener, going all seven in a five-hitter. Only two of the four runs charged to her were earned as she struck out seven and walked three, moving to 6-4.

Southern Oregon totaled 21 hits on the day. Megan Scherer (Oakland, Calif./Bishop O'Dowd) contributed two of them with an RBI in Game 2.

The Raiders swept the season series with the Mountaineers and outscored them 32-12.

They'll next play a makeup doubleheader Tuesday at Northwest Christian with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. Then they'll return to Ashland for their final regular season home contests, Friday against Concordia and Saturday against Northwest.
