C of I gets busy quick in 4-0 win over Raiders

CALDWELL, Idaho – The first Cascade Conference game in Southern Oregon's men's soccer history got out of hand early as College of Idaho did all of its scoring in the first half of a 4-0 victory at Simplot Stadium.

Joe Bolin, an All-CCC senior forward, scored unassisted twice for the Coyotes (2-0 overall). His goals in the third and 35th minutes sandwiched Andres Idoeta's 17th-minute goal, which Bolin also assisted. Admir Selimovic tacked on the fourth goal with a 30-yard free kick in the 42nd minute.

SOU, which went 5-0 in nonleague play, will attempt to bounce back from the program's first loss against Rocky Mountain at 2:30 p.m. (MT) Sunday in Billings, Mont.

The Raiders had the advantage in shots (12-11) and corners (8-7), and directed four shots on goal compared to C of I's six. But the Coyotes took advantage of their limited opportunities, starting with Bolin's early run down the right side, then his cross to Idoeta for a short shot.

Bolin, who scored 15 goals in 2014, has five goals in two games this season.

Jonathan Morales manned the goal in the second half for SOU, making two saves.

The shutout went to C of I keeper Grant Billings.
