SOU scores in 88th minute for second straight 1-0 victory

EUGENEPresley Lambert had a weekend to remember capped in dramatic fashion Saturday evening at Northwest Christian, and the Southern Oregon women's soccer suddenly has new life in the Cascade Conference.

Lambert gathered Makena Totushek's through-ball and drove it into the back of the net from 10 yards out with less than three minutes to play in regulation at Mike Kelly Field, giving the Raiders a 1-0 victory over the Beacons and Lambert her second game-winning goal in as many days.

The Raiders, who stumbled into the weekend with five straight losses (all on the road), are now 3-6-2 overall and, more importantly, 2-2 in the CCC with home games next Friday and Saturday against Warner Pacific and Eastern Oregon coming up.

Lambert's goal was her third of the season and 10th of her career. Totushek – whose assist of Lambert's goal in the 49th minute of Friday's 1-0 win over Corban was retroactively given to Sarah Garoutte instead – now has a team-high three assists.

The Raiders are on their first win streak since taking three straight in the middle of the 2013 season. NCU went to 0-8-1 and 0-4.

The shutout again went to Raider keeper Kylie Moltzen. The last time SOU registered back-to-back shutouts was also in 2013.

Moltzen made five saves, and NCU keeper Kristin Fulbright made one. The Beacons have been shut out five times this season.

SOU had the slight edge in shots (12-10) and corners (3-1).
