ASHLAND – With six Cascade Collegiate Conference wins by a staggering average of 36.7 points, the 13th-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team has successfully broken the will of opponent after opponent.

Doing so in Klamath Falls has historically proven to be not so simple. That's where the first-place Raiders (13-0 overall, 6-0 CCC) and 23rd-ranked Oregon Tech (11-4, 5-1) will meet for Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. matchup, and where the Raiders will try to keep up with top-ranked Saint Xavier (Ill.) as the last remaining unbeaten teams in the NAIA Div. II ranks.

The Owls had been unbeaten through their first four CCC contests until becoming an upset victim last Wednesday against Warner Pacific. The next day WPC and SOU squared off as the only teams left with perfect conference records, and the Raiders responded with an 86-38 walloping – marking their most lopsided CCC win since the 1993-94 season and fewest points allowed against a CCC opponent since 2000-01.

The Raiders' refocused attention to defensive detail made their last two wins just as alarming for what they didn't do as what they did. Against Multnomah and WPC, the Raiders shot a combined 18 percent (8-for-44) from 3-point range after entering the weekend with an average of almost 10 made 3-pointers per game. They still won by a combined 95 points, neutralizing the shooting drought by forcing 57 turnovers and a combined opponents' field-goal percentage of 26. Currently, their opponents' percentage of 33.5 ranks sixth in the NAIA, and their plus-7.2 turnover margin ranks fifth.

SOU swept the Owls during the 2014-15 regular season but were upset in the CCC tournament semifinals, 77-74 in Ashland. Prior to last year's 89-78 win, the Raiders had lost four straight at OIT by an average of 23.3 points. OIT has the all-time series edge, 35-31.

Sunday's game at winless Walla Walla (0-13, 0-6) will be the first CCC meeting between the Raiders and Wolves. SOU won the only previous matchup in 2005, 78-30.

Quick Hits:
– If Ashley Claussen keeps up her pace of 20.7 points per game, she'd have the highest average of any Raider since Nicole Whitney (24.0) in 1993-94.
– Four straight SOU opponents have failed to reach 30-percent shooting for the first time in at least 10 years.
– Of the 240 total minutes played in CCC action, the Raiders have trailed for just over 18.
– Dating back to last season, SOU's regular-season win streak is at 21 games.
– Despite playing just one pre-conference game, Carly Meister is seventh in the CCC in scoring (13.8 points) and fifth in rebounding (7.2). Sydney Mullings, who didn't play at all during in the nonleague schedule and missed two CCC games, is averaging 11.8 points and six boards.
– Sisters Tiani Bradford and Toria Bradford have combined to collect 17 steals in SOU's last two games.
Autumn Durand (11.8 points) has transformed into one of the CCC's most tenacious rebounders, going from 5.4 per game in conference play last season to 7.8 now. She pulled down a career-high 13 against Warner Pacific.

About Oregon Tech: Winners of the last two CCC tournament titles, the Owls are dangerous again with four returning starters, four of whom are among the CCC's top-25 scorers – senior Karly LeVeque (14.5 points), senior Megan Whetstone (12.3), junior Ashleigh Vandenbrink (11.0) and senior Tess Armstrong (10.8)… Their 73-65 slip-up against Warner Pacific was the result of 7-for-30 shooting in the second half. Overall, they rank second in the CCC in scoring (73.6), first in field-goal percentage (44.9) and first in 3-point percentage (40.2). Thanks to a veteran backcourt, they also average fewer turnovers (14.3) than anyone in the league… OIT's resume includes an 81-69 exhibition win over Portland State… Whetstone was the star of last season's CCC semis with 26 points and 14 rebounds, while Armstrong made the go-ahead jumper with a minute left.

About Walla Walla: In search of their first NAIA victory, the Wolves have struggled to find their footing during their first season as CCC members, losing 13 games by an average of 47.2 points – including an infamous 120-17 loss at Eastern Oregon on Dec. 5… Christina Thermidor leads seven players who've seen action with 8.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest… They shoot 30 percent and allow 47 as a team.
