ASHLAND – Southern Oregon women's soccer players Presley Lambert and Kylie Moltzen have been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 team, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The team comprises 11 players – four defenders, three forwards, three midfielders and a goalkeeper. A total of 45 NAIA women's soccer players from four districts were chosen nationally and all will be considered for the CoSIDA Academic All-America team, which will be announced in November.

The Capital One program is designed to recognize student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be eligible for the honor, one must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.3 and be a starter or key reserve.

Lambert and Moltzen, both seniors, have been cornerstones of the Raiders' success during one of the best seasons in team history.

Lambert, a film and media major from Santa Clarita, Calif., has a GPA of 3.61 and is a three-time Academic All-Cascade Conference honoree and a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete. She was a first-team all-conference performer as an attacking midfielder as a junior, but her move this year to holding-midfielder helped turn SOU into one of the top defensive teams in the country. She owns a team-high four assists, and for her career she ranks eighth in team history with eight assists and 10th with 12 goals.

Moltzen, a product of Fremont, Calif., is an environmental science major with a 3.90 GPA. She's also a three-time Academic All-CCC selection and Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete, along with being the most accomplished goalkeeper to ever wear a Raider uniform. The four-year starter owns the SOU record for shutouts with 22 solo and five shared, and is second on the keeper victories list with 30. This year she tops the CCC in goals-allowed average (0.1) and save percentage (.969), having allowed just one goal – on a penalty kick – in conference play.

The Raiders (11-4-1 overall, 8-1 CCC) end the regular season at home Friday against College of Idaho and Saturday against Rocky Mountain, needing four points to secure the team's first title outright. Both games start at 2 p.m.
