Boise State too much for SOU in exhibition

BOISE, Idaho
– Shalen Shaw scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds Sunday in leading the Boise State women's basketball team to an 89-45 victory over Southern Oregon at Taco Bell Arena.

The game was a counter for the Broncos (1-0 overall) and an exhibition for the Raiders (1-1), who were playing their third game in three days.

Autumn Durand had nine points, three rebounds and three steals, and Tiani Bradford registered eight points and five boards for SOU, which struggled from the field at 16-for-63.

The Broncos took control by generating extra possessions, totaling 25 offensive rebounds and forcing 26 turnovers. They led 29-10 after one quarter and 46-17 by halftime. They also got 51 points from their bench as Riley Lupfer (13 points), Joyce Harrell (11) and Leonie Edringer (10) led the way.

SOU resumes play next Friday and Saturday at Oregon Tech's Midland Empire Classic against Simpson and California Maritime.
