ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon women's soccer team is off to its best start under Jenni Rosenberg at 5-3-1. The Raiders are also 2-0 for the first time in Cascade Conference play since the program's inaugural season in 2000. Now, they'll look to take the next step by facing CCC competition on the road for the first time this season.

The Raiders will travel to Warner Pacific (3-4-1 overall, 1-2-1 CCC) at 3:30 p.m. Friday, then take I-84 to La Grande to face Eastern Oregon (6-2-2, 3-0-1) on at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Southern Oregon has the upper hand series against the Knights and Mountaineers, but last year's games were in Ashland. The Mountaineers snapped a nine-game winless streak against the Raiders with a 1-0 decision, going on to finish second in the CCC, and SOU topped the Knights 5-1 for its sixth win in seven games against them.

Briefly:
– Megan McArthur was named CCC women's soccer offensive player of the week. She scored two goals on Friday against Corban and the go-ahead goal against Northwest Christian on Saturday. Having scored nine goals over her last 12 games, she moved into sixth place on SOU's all-time list with 17 career goals, and she's second in the CCC with six on the season.
– The Raiders have outscored their five NAIA opponents, 18-1. Dating back to last season, only one of their last 11 opponents in CCC regular-season play has scored multiple goals. Three defenders securing the back row are leading the team in minutes played: Megan Smith (740), Jacqueline Laird (729) and Daisy Cervantes (687).
– Midfielders Presley Lambert and Lisa Elledge lead the team with three assists apiece.
Kelsey Randall and McArthur had two goals apiece last Friday against Corban, becoming the first to score multiple goals in the same game since Sept. 16, 2005.
– SOU ended last season on a five-game CCC road winning streak, the longest in team history.
– Dating back to 2014, SOU has won 13 straight games in which it has scored multiple goals.
