ASHLAND
– Undeterred by a grueling tour of the region and 41 days between home games, the Southern Oregon women's soccer team is right where it needs to be as it prepares to return to Raider Stadium and hit the halfway point of the Cascade Conference regular season.

The Raiders (6-4 overall, 3-1 CCC), winners of three straight 1-0 decisions, will host first-place Eastern Oregon (5-2-1, 4-0) on Friday and Warner Pacific (3-4-2, 1-1-2) on Saturday with a chance to reach the top of the standings. Both games start at 4:30 p.m.

Last Week in Review: The Raiders secured their third and fourth shutouts of the season last week by defeating Northwest Christian on Friday, 1-0, and Corban on Saturday, 1-0. Against Corban, which entered the week unbeaten in CCC play, redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Hannah Ceciliani picked up six saves – her highest total yet in a shutout – and on Monday she was voted the CCC Defensive Player of the Week. Aislinn Waite scored the lone goal unassisted against the Beacons in the 68th minute, and Brionna Wood tallied against Corban in the 36th via Hannah Taie's pass.

Briefly:
– In their six wins, the Raiders have now gotten game-winning goals from five different individuals. Yvonne Valencia is the only player with two.
– Prior to their current streak, the Raiders had never won three games in a row by 1-0 scores. They'd only previously won such games back-to-back six times in the team's history, including twice last year.
– Going back to last season, SOU has shut out 12 of its last 15 opponents in conference games.
– Though SOU has gotten comfortable playing on the road, the Raider Stadium turf will be a welcome sight: Since moving over from University Field in 2014, the Raiders are 14-4-2 at home and have won nine of 10 while allowing just once goal since the start of 2016.
– The last time SOU trailed in the first half of a CCC contest was Oct. 23, 2015 against Carroll – 15 games ago.

About Eastern Oregon:
– First-year head coach Jacob Plocher, who spent the previous four years at Presentation College (S.D.), has a Mountaineer team that was picked to finish fifth alone in first place, having won home games against Northwest (2-1), Evergreen (1-0), Carroll (2-0) and Providence (3-2).
– The Raiders are 14-4-1 all-time against the Mountaineers, and their only loss in the series over the last 10 seasons was a 1-0 decision in Ashland on Oct. 3, 2015.
– EOU was held to two goals in its first four games but has scored eight in its last four. Natalie Mitchell, a junior transfer, owns a team-high four of them, while keeper Cydni Cottrell has made 25 saves with six goals allowed.

About Warner Pacific:
– Vying for their first-ever winning conference record, the Knights have already taken a point off of preseason favorite Carroll with a 3-3 draw and defeated Northwest, the team picked to finish second in the CCC, 1-0.
– SOU is 13-4-2 all-time against WPC, a record that includes four straight home victories. Last year's meeting was a 2-0 Raider win in Portland.
– After tallying 11 goals and two assists as a freshman last year, Ashley Giesbers leads the CCC in points with eight goals and two assists this season; five of those goals and two of those assists have been recorded in conference action. Staci Tatum brings three goals and three assists into the weekend.
