14th-ranked Mountaineers down Southern Oregon in 3

ASHLAND – First-place and 14th-ranked Eastern Oregon continued to protect its home court against Southern Oregon with a 25-15, 25-12, 25-19 sweep on Saturday afternoon at Quinn Coliseum.

The Cascade Collegiate Conference match was over within an hour as the Mountaineers (16-5 overall, 10-2 CCC) posted a blistering .365 attacking average, the highest for an SOU opponent this year, behind catalyst Megan Bunn's 11 kills on 21 attacks and eight more from Isabelle Statkus on just 14 tries.

The Raiders (9-7, 6-5), who were coming off Friday night's five-set upset at No. 8 College of Idaho, have lost seven matches in a row at EOU. They were swept in the regular-season series by the Mountaineers.

Taylor Ristvedt did her part with 12 kills on a .345 attack, but the rest of the team swung at a negative-.049 clip. Natalie James had 16 assists, Emma Ryan and Ashlyn Flynn each had seven digs, and Makayla Hoyt posted four blocks.

EOU middle Madisen Garlie kept the Raiders from getting comfortable by assisting six of the team's seven blocks.

SOU completes its road trip at 1 p.m. Sunday against Walla Walla (Wash.).
