KLAMATH FALLS – Fifth-seeded Southern Oregon ran out of answers in the second half Wednesday night at 22nd-ranked Oregon Tech, falling 89-77 in the quarterfinal round of the Cascade Conference Tournament presented by U.S. Bank.

The fourth-seeded Owls (23-8), who tied for second place during the regular season, stayed perfect at home and advanced to play at third-seeded College of Idaho in Saturday's semifinal round.

SOU junior guard Ben DeSaulnier scored 14 of his team-high 23 points in the second half. The Raiders trailed 48-37 at the break, but tied it by the 16-minute mark with a 15-4 run that DeSaulnier sparked with seven points and capped with a 3-pointer.

It was 56-56 with 13 minutes to go when the Owls made their move. Tyler Heib's 3-pointer made it 64-58, and later, with 6:30 remaining, Joel Yellow Owl gave OIT a 73-63 advantage by stepping into and hitting a 3-pointer at the end of the shot clock.
