No. 10 Raiders collect 20th win at Multnomah

PORTLAND – Following an eight-day layoff, the routine nature of 10th-ranked Southern Oregon's 25-19, 25-20, 25-20 win against Multnomah was much appreciated at Jim Skagen Court.

The Raiders (20-2 overall, 13-2 Cascade Conference) are now 20-match winners for the first time since 2015 and the eighth time in head coach Josh Rohlfing's 12-year tenure. They and Eastern Oregon remain tied in first place with five regular-season matches to go and the tiebreaker in SOU's favor.

In the Raiders' 16th sweep of the season, Taylor Ristvedt nailed down 12 kills on 21 attacks with a pair of blocks to head a .366 team attacking average. Elliott Cook (9 kills, 15 attacks), Malie Rube (8 kills, 15 attacks) and Makayla Hoyt (7 kills, 11 attacks) were also ultra-efficient, and outside hitter Dani Johnson had a season-high 15 digs with six kills.

Over the last month, Ristvedt has recorded at least 10 kills in eight consecutive matches and hit over .400 in five of them.

SOU's only deficits of the night were after the first point of the opening set and 2-0 in the second. The Lions (5-19, 3-13), currently in 10th place, have dropped all eight of their matchups with the Raiders.

Emma Wall's 14 kills led Multnomah, which hit .170 collectively.

SOU will play at 5 p.m. Saturday at Warner Pacific (7-14, 6-10). On Friday, the Knights defeated Oregon Tech in five sets.
