PORTLAND – The Southern Oregon women's soccer team earned its most lopsided win in more than three years Friday at Multnomah, 9-0, and entered a four-way tie for second place in the Cascade Conference.
Misty Martinez scored a pair of goals – giving her four in SOU's last three games – while
Kiani Pandoliano scored one and assisted two.
Makena Totushek,
Mia Volpatti and
Aislinn Waite recorded a goal and an assist apiece.
The Raiders (6-2-2 overall, 4-1-1 CCC) hadn't scored more than five in a game since a 12-0 win against Simpson (Calif.) on Sept. 2, 2015.
Up 2-0 at halftime, they tallied five times within the first 12 minutes of the second half.
Macaylea Mitchell, assisted by
Cassandra Kohler, and
Simone Schroder added the final touches in the 66th and 73rd minutes.
Martinez was credited with the game-winner in the 21st minute, her third of the season. She's totaled a team-high five goals overall.
The Raiders outshot the Lions by a margin of 32-1 for their fourth shutout of the year.
Multnomah, a first-year program, dropped to 0-8 and 0-6 in the CCC.
SOU will visit ninth-place Warner Pacific at 7 p.m. Saturday.
