COMPLETE SOU RESULTS

SPOKANE, Wash. – Senior Chandler Michael, Southern Oregon's third-ranked 149-pounder, ran his record to 10-0 with a tournament title and junior 184-pounder C.J. McKinnis accompanied him in first place Sunday at the Spokane Open.

Michael stayed perfect for the Raiders with five straight wins, three of which were by fall – in 15 seconds in the first round against Southwest Oregon's Coltyn Ringen, in 21 seconds against Umpqua's Garrett Russell in the quarterfinals, and in 1:56 against Warner Pacific's Vincent Washington in the semis – to give him six pins this season. In the first-place match, he defeated Providence's Shonn Roberts, the No. 6 149-pounder in the NAIA, by 11-6 decision.

McKinnis improved to 8-1 with four victories. He pulled off two upsets, knocking off 10th-ranked Tyler Webley of Providence by 7-3 decision in the quarterfinals and 12th-ranked Steeler French of Montana State-Northern by 7-2 decision in the championship match. His other wins were over Southwest Oregon's Quinn Simard, 7-1, and North Idaho's Levi Perry, 17-6.

Three other Raiders placed: Tanner Fischer (197) in third, and Devin Poppen (141) and Max Hane (285) in fourth.

Fischer went 5-1 with pins of Providence's AJ Hoggatt (1:18) and Simon Fraser's Nolan Badovinca (2:35). He won the third-place match by medical forfeit.

Wrestling up a weight class, Poppen came back from an opening-round defeat with three consecutive pins in the consolation bracket. He stayed alive with a 9-7 sudden victory over Riley Gurr and reached the third-place match by topping North Idaho's Salvador Silva, 9-4.

Hane picked up bonus points in his first three matches to reach the semis, taking technical falls against Big Bend's Alex Garcia (18-0) and Clackamas's Beau Crawford (18-0), then pinning Christian Robertson in 2:25.

Zac Wigzell (141) was also strong, recording two pins among his three victories.
