ARCATA, Calif. – The Southern Oregon women's basketball team played Humboldt State (Calif.) to a halftime tie Friday night before falling 76-61 in an exhibition at Lumberjack Arena.
Humboldt, an NCAA Division II team, got game-highs of 25 points and 13 rebounds out of Alexia Thrower, who shot 12-of-18 from the floor.
Ariel Augustine's 18 points led 12th-ranked SOU. She shot 7-of-14 and pulled down six rebounds, while freshman guard
Kalei Iwami checked in with 10 points off the bench in her first collegiate outing, hitting two of SOU's six 3-pointers.
Tied 31-31 at half, the Raiders faded in missing 27 of their 34 attempts in the third and fourth quarters.
They'll play their first counter at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Simpson (Calif.).
