DeSaulnier drops 26, climbs scoring list as Raiders beat Wolves

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Senior wing Ben DeSaulnier poured in 26 points and moved up to No. 2 on Southern Oregon's all-time scoring list in 90-68 win against Walla Walla on Saturday night at Windemuth Court.

DeSaulnier scored 18 in the second half to help the Raiders (16-9 overall, 11-5 Cascade Conference) pull away, finishing 7-of-15 from the field with four 3-pointers and three steals. The 6-foot-3 Philomath High product surpassed Shea Washington on the Raider career list, upping his total to 1,924 points with four regular-season games to go.

Jordan Hunt added his fifth double-double of the season, recording 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Kenny Meyer went for 12 points, eight assists and six boards. Playing without injured point guard Tristen Holmes, the Raiders also lost Conor Carroll to injury after he went 6-of-6 with three triples for 15 points in the first half.

Aaron Borich scored eight of his 10 points in the final five minutes as SOU stretched its lead.

The Raiders shot 51 percent from the field (33-of-65) and went 11-of-26 from downtown.

Wesley Burke scored 16 to lead Walla Walla.

SOU plays a nonleague game at New Hope Christian on Tuesday in Eugene before returning home next weekend, hosting Corban on Saturday and Northwest Christian on Sunday.
