ASHLAND – After sitting on its first Cascade Conference setback for a week, the Southern Oregon University women's soccer team will get a chance to bounce back at Raider Stadium against Northwest Christian on Saturday and Corban on Sunday.

The Raiders (4-2-1 overall, 2-1 CCC) had been unbeaten in five straight before dropping a 2-0 game at Eastern Oregon. The result was on par with the parity displayed throughout the conference already: Just two weeks in, every team has at least one loss or a tie attached to their record. Northwest Christian (2-6, 1-3) will arrive in Ashland near the bottom of the standings, while Corban (6-3, 3-1) is tied for the points lead. Both games start at 11 a.m.

ASHLAND SOCCER CLUB DAY: On Saturday, all members of the Ashland Soccer Club and their parents will be celebrated with free admission to both SOU-Corban games. Kids 12-and-under get in free to all SOU home events thanks to Oak Tree Northwest's sponsorship of the Kids Free program.

NAIA TOP 25: The Raiders have never held a Top 25 spot in the 19-year history of the program, but they've received votes in both polls released over the last two weeks. They totaled three voter points in Tuesday's latest poll, making them No. 38 overall. The CCC isn't represented in the Top 25, though Eastern Oregon is just three spots out with 40 voter points.

BRIEFLY:
  • SOU's loss at Eastern Oregon marked the first time the Raiders have allowed two or more goals in a game in 12 contests dating back to last year. They've given up a total of six this season.
  • The Raiders are 15-2 at home since the start of 2016 and 3-0 at Raider Stadium this year. They started the conference schedule with back-to-back 1-0 home wins over Rocky Mountain (Mont.) and College of Idaho.
  • SOU keeper Kailey Lemon ranks second in the CCC in goals-against average (0.74) and save percentage (.889).
  • All four of SOU's game-winning goals have been scored by different individuals: Misty Martinez, Kiani Pandoliano, Makena Totushek and Mia Volpatti. The latter three lead the team with two goals apiece, and Volpatti owns a team-high two assists.
  • The Raiders have been outshot 116-74 but have a .554 shots-on-goal average compared to opponents' .422.

ABOUT NORTHWEST CHRISTIAN:
  • The Raiders have never lost to the Beacons, going 12-0-1 in the series with one goal allowed in the last nine matchups. NCU hasn't scored a goal in Ashland since 2007.
  • NCU got its lone CCC win against Evergeen, 2-0, and has been outscored 13-1 by its other three foes. On the season, the Beacons have been outscored 23-7.
  • Libby Gregory (3 goals, 1 assists) and Hannah Best (3 goals) are the team's points leaders.

ABOUT CORBAN:
  • The Raiders have won three straight regular-season matchups with Corban but were eliminated by the Warriors in penalty kicks in last year's CCC tournament. Corban leads the all-time series, 19-8-3.
  • The Warriors have won five of their last six entering the weekend, taking their only loss against Carroll, 2-0. They have a combined 14-12 goals advantage this year.
  • Hannah Shore (5 goals, 1 assist) and Rylee MacDonald (4 goals), both newcomers, are two of the top scorers in the CCC.
