ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon University volleyball team hasn't done much sweating during its active six-match winning streak, and Thursday night's 25-16, 26-24, 25-21 win against Northwest Christian at Lithia Motors Pavilion was no exception.

Junior middle Elliott Cook and senior right-side Taylor Ristvedt stayed hot in combining for 25 kills on 51 swings, and Cook had five of the team's 11 blocks in its 10th Cascade Conference sweep. The ninth-ranked Raiders (21-3 overall, 12-2 CCC) have won 18 of their last 19 sets going into Friday's key 7 p.m. match against 12th-ranked Corban.

Cook had attacked at a combined .500 average over her previous four matches and nearly got their again, putting down 13 kills – tied for a career-high in a three-set match, and a season-high in a match of any length – on a .476 clip. With 12 more kills, Ristvedt finished the season series against the Beacons averaging 4.7 per set and totaled four blocks.

NCU, which had won four of its last five, dropped to 15-9 overall and 7-8 in the CCC.

The Raiders were only threatened at one point – when NCU tied the second set 24-24 on back-to-back Jessica Northcutt Kills. Cook finished the Beacons off though, answering with her fifth kill of the frame and taking set point by blocking Northcutt.

Maddie Pernich contributed eight kills and Makayla Hoyt had a team-high six blocks with five kills. Emma Ryan led the Raiders' back row with 18 digs and Sara Fanger had 10, helping to hold the Beacons to a .110 average.

Hannah Bogatin's 24 assists dictated a .221 SOU attack. Ella Ristvedt added three service aces and Kylie Ristvedt chipped in three blocks.

Taylor Gould's 11 kills led NCU. Makenna Northern recorded 28 assists and 10 digs.
