No. 9 Raiders collect 8th straight win at Walla Walla

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Ninth-ranked Southern Oregon zipped through the first part of a high-stakes road trip on Thursday night, defeating last-place Walla Walla (Wash.) 25-13, 25-11, 25-11 in Cascade Conference action at Windemuth Court.

The Raiders (23-3 overall, 14-2 CCC) never trailed while utilizing all parts of their red-hot attack. Elliott Cook had seven kills, Taylor Ristvedt had six, Makayla Hoyt and Maddie Pernich had five apiece, and Nila Lukens and Kylie Ristvedt added four each in the team's eighth consecutive win and 11th conference sweep.

Two weeks ago, the Raiders attacked at a .500 average for the first time in 12 years. Through two sets against the Wolves, they were hitting a blistering .565 before ultimately settling in at .384.

The night served as a tune-up for two key matches in the next 48 hours. On Friday, they'll visit third-ranked Eastern Oregon with a chance to force a first-place tie in the standings. On Saturday, they'll finish the trip at No. 21 College of Idaho.

Only four regular-season matches are left on the schedule.

The Wolves dipped to 1-23 overall and stayed winless in 17 CCC contests.

Hannah Bogatin had a match-high 17 assists along with five digs, and Tehani Faitau totaled 11 assists. Emma Ryan led the team with 14 digs while Kya Knuth and Myla Norvell both checked in with five.
