KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Southern Oregon University volleyball team wrapped a weekend road sweep on Saturday night with its first win at Northwest (Wash.) since 2015 by scores of 25-19, 25-20, 21-25 and 25-14 at NU Pavilion.

In their final match of the first half of Cascade Conference play, the 10th-ranked Raiders (17-3 overall, 8-2 CCC) dominated all but the third set while attacking at a .336 clip. They leaned on efficient outings from junior middle Elliott Cook (10 kills, 3 blocks) and junior hitter Maddie Pernich (12 kills, 3 blocks), who combined for 22 kills compared to only three errors on 35 total attacks.

Senior right-side Taylor Ristvedt was typically overpowering, going for 15 kills on 30 swings – she's now gone over 13 kills in seven straight matches for the first time in her career – and Sara Fanger sparked an aggressive night in service. Fanger, a senior defensive specialist from Tualatin, delivered six of the team's 10 aces, tying the highest total for a Raider in any match since 2013.

SOU hadn't recorded 10 aces or more in a CCC in four years. Kadyn Jones and Tehani Faitau added two apiece.

Jones also had 12 digs. Emma Ryan led the team with 21 and Fanger had eight, while Hannah Bogatin assisted 24 kills.

The Eagles, led by Hannah Lord's 17 kills, dropped to 8-9 overall and 6-5 in conference play.

After sweeping Oregon Tech on Friday night, they were deflated early in falling behind 16-11 in the first set. In the second, they were tied 15-15 before the Raiders scored five straight in a rally highlighted by a Fanger ace.

SOU trailed 7-4 before flipping the fourth set with a six-point run that included three kills from Pernich, two from Makayla Hoyt and another Fanger ace. The Raiders cruised from there on out, scoring the final six points unanswered.

Hoyt contributed six kills without an error and four blocks.

The Raiders will be on the road again next week with a single match on Friday at Oregon Tech.
