ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon men's wrestling team compiled 10 bonus-point victories to pocket back-to-back comfortable Cascade Conference dual wins, 29-16 over Corban and 43-4 over Simpson (Calif.) on Thursday night at Riehm Arena.

The Raiders (3-2) raced out to a 22-3 through the first five classes in their first look against Corban's new program. In their rout of Simpson, they were spurred by pins from freshmen Lorenzo Vasquez (125), Noah Talavera (165), Fabian Miranda-Walls and Tanner Clark (285).

Vasquez, 16th-ranked JJ Talavera (157) and Tanner Sallee (184) all earned two wins on the day.

After Vasquez's win by forfeit to start the Corban dual, 12th-ranked Justin Coon (141) worked a 13-5 major decision and Matt Peterson (149) and JJ Talavera collected back-to-back wins by fall in the first round. Sallee and Josh Hammers (197) later clinched the team victory with wins by decision.

SOU took the first three classes against Simpson, getting a Vasquez pin, a Beau Shatto (133) decision and Alex Rendon's forfeit win at 141. After ninth-ranked Armand Molina (149) earned the Redhawks' lone win, it was all Raiders.

Noah Talavera and Clark both pinned their opponents in the third round – Clark did so with less than a second left on the clock – and Miranda-Walla finished his foe in the second. Sallee picked up a major decision, while JJ Talavera and Cylus Hoke both won by decision.

Simpson dropped to 0-3, also losing the early dual against Corban. The Warriors ended the day at 1-2.

SOU will travel to La Grande on Friday, facing rival Eastern Oregon at 7 p.m.
